Simple is Better!!

“Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end, because once you get there, you can move mountains.”─   Steve Jobs

We all have the secret of getting better now hidden inside of us.  You have that secret hidden inside of you!  Together, let’s find your hidden treasure.

Let’s talk about Problems:  Problems are everywhere ─- under the couch there’s dust; around our middle is fat; in the garden are weeds; in our body there is illness; with our family there are worries; in our work there are bureaucrats; the more you list, the more you can think of.  It’s easy to think of problems:  it seems like the human brain is programmed for it. Scanning for danger is among the most basic of survival skills.  However, problems are the sons and daughters of old problems or the parents and grandparents of new problems.  Problems can actually grow as we think about them.  Small problem becomes large problem becomes huge gigantic crisis. And therein lies all the drama.1458422_494416857327617_5856345683517233874_nIMG_4357 Let’s talk about Solutions:

Solutions are the enemy of problems.   Problems are sneaky.  They convince their victims (us) that they could be solved ─ if only we would use more perseverance.

The unconscious mind is convinced that our old ways of “solving problems” will work if we just put our minds to it.  Problems are very resistant.  They are very insistent on making you think they are on the up and up.  They resist real solutions by convincing you that the things you have tried, while focusing on the problem, if done with a good deal more fervor, will work.  NOT SO.

Solutions live in an entirely different dimension than Problems.  They have very little to do with the Problem dimension.   Solutions bring new information to the table.  Solutions require that questions be asked, that truth be learned.

Solutions are light.  Problems are dark.   Problems are dramatic.  Solutions are creative!  The truth is that when you concentrate on the problem, the problem gets bigger.  When you concentrate on the solution, the solution gets bigger.

Problems can’t be solved (except in arithmetic, of course). Solutions can be found ─ we just have to look.

Think of a problem.  Now think of a solution to someone else’s problem.  See the difference in the darkness and lightness factor?
